2014 AWARDS -2015 AWARDS

Rose Kefford was nominated to represent the Lytton electorate by Neil Symes MP for Inspiring Women for International Womens Day and for volunteering with Scope and Angelflight she was presented to Madam Speaker Fiona Simpson

Zita Wilton Sidaway OAM was presented with this special honour on Australia Day 2014.

For service to the community, particularly women's affairs.

Zita has been a member of the Scope club of Wynnum since the beginning. Will be 90 come July.

She was nominated by National Council of Women Qld for her volunteering work for Women in the community.

Beryl Vayro - Aust Day Recipient 2014


Scope Club of Wynnum Inc has been calling for Australia Day nominations for 36 years and presenting the award to the recipient on Australia Day on 26th January.

Our criteria is:

Someone who lives in the local Bayside area and are over the age of 18 years.

Someone who is community minded, helpful to others.

A volunteer who excels above their normal duties/ expectations

Someone who never expect recognition for their efforts:

Nominations are to include a brief history & detail of local community activities of the nominee.

Now is the time to thank them.

We wish to introduce our recipient for 2014, Beryl Vayro!

Beryl is a Life & Diamond member of the PCYC Lota, in recognition for her work over the past 34 year. During this time Beryl has run Bingo at the Wynnum Manly Leagues Club in aid of PCYC.

She is a member of Quota International, now for 16 years and has held all positions, and through Quota has supported the local community including ARAD / Aid & Recreation for the Disabled situated at Wynnum Nth.

Quota’s main fundraising for the year is the Hear & Say Centre at Auchenflower.
This money is used to purchase Cochlear Ear Implants for deaf children.

She also works as a volunteer in the canteen at all home games at the Wynnum Manly Leagues Club; the canteen raises money for the Wynnum Manly Old Boys Club, which is donated back to the Wynnum Manly Junior League.

Beryl was also one of the supporters for the Wynnum Manly Spring Parade.
